Last weekend the Yukica family came to visit, minus Jack (we missed visiting with you, Jack!). We had an excellent time swimming, tubing and eating s'mores. The boys all did such a nice job facing their fears and challenging themselves to try new things. Thanks for making the trip guys!!
We hope this blog will allow family and friends to see how fast our four kiddos are growing!

Beach Day and a New Floor!
Somehow, we made it this far into the summer and haven't yet made it to an ocean beach! The stars aligned this week for all of us to be able to go. Gabe had a job in Portland during the morning, so the kids and I met him there in the afternoon. It was so much fun! The tide was coming in, so boogie boarding was excellent and the water was so warm that it was pleasant to actually swim in. We stayed until suppertime and ended the day with dinner outside by the ocean:)
Also this week, Grampy and Grammy came for a visit. We were able to get out on the boat on a gorgeous afternoon. There was lots of handwork going on in the garage to lay an attic floor to take advantage of some wasted space and gain storage space. Thanks for the help guys!
Noah had the opportunity this week to attend a summer basketball camp. I was so proud of him because it was a camp with lots of older kids and even though it was so hard for him he worked hard and never gave up on playing. He can't wait to go again next year, "when I get even better". Way to go bud!

Clubhouse Visit 2016
On Wednesday, the Carlile's headed back to Boston and we headed to Belgrade. Actually, Gabe left early in the morning to golf at Belgrade Lakes CC with some friends. The kids and I headed over later in the day, hoping to hear that our boat was repaired... no such luck. The kids have been looking forward to visiting "the clubhouse" since summer began. We spent several days kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, taking leisurely boat rides in El Guapo and enjoying the sunset every night. The highlight, for all of us, was getting to visit with the Wellenius family. They gave us a tour around their gorgeous new property and of Great Pond from the water.
Gabe had to run back to Farmington on Saturday morning so the kids and I took a hike up Mount Philip (I think). We were rewarded with a view of Great Pond and the kids got to take turns with the clipboard for the scavenger hunt along the way. We also checked some things off our summer bucket list by learning how to make balloon animals and making crafts. Thanks Wellenius family for another relaxing get a way!

Boothbay Adventures & Carlile's Visit
The day the coaches left and headed to Deer Isle, the kids and I headed to Boothbay Harbor with friends. The weather was supposed to be poor, but we went anyway and had ball exploring the tide pools, checking out the harbor and introducing them to our special ice cream stop:) The next day, Heli and the kids made the drive to Maine from Boston. Per usual, the kids we like long lost friends who pick up right where they left off at each visit. We showed them the bees, swam in the pool and hiked Bald Mountain. Although it was a short trip, we made the most of visiting and relaxing:)
