Friday- 11/1- We were quite efficient getting out of the hotel this morning (lots of practice!) and on our way to St. Louis. It was cool, but beautifully sunny with not a cloud in the sky. We hurried to the Gateway Arch and spent the afternoon exploring the museum, watching the video of its construction, and taking a tram ride to the top. PB&J count- 55
Saturday- 11/2- today was exhausting, but so fun! We started the day at City Museum. I honestly don’t know how to explain this crazy museum, maybe just check out their website. Basically the artists/engineers take old building materials/structures and turn them into different art. There are tunnels and slides and crazy climbing structures. There are literally no maps and you just move around and explore everywhere. They even have a 10 story slide not to mention some crazy outdoor climbing structures too. There was a unanimous decision that the funniest/most memorable part of the day was when we were all in a metal crawlway 20 feet off the ground and Gabe’s phone was squeezed out of his pocket. It fell and bounced off a granite slab and into a water feature… It took us a few minutes to squeeze out of the structure and find our way to the bottom to retrieve it. The good news (and the reenactment should be an apple commercial) is that other than a little ding on the side, the phone seems to be totally fine! For lunch we made it to Fitz’s root beer brewery/bottling restaurant. All of our lunch portions were so huge that we only had room for one root beer float at the end. This one is the Ghostbuster. The kids also each got their own bottle of soda (first time ever having soda!) it got mixed reviews and only Noah and Audrey actually drank theirs. We finished our sightseeing of St. Louis at the City Zoo. Sadly Gabe leaves us tomorrow and the kids and I are heading to Chicago!
