Thursday- 11/7- We literally spent the entire day at the Ford Rouge Factory and museum. We arrived before it opened and left as it was closing. We took the factory tour first and it did not disappoint! No picture taking was allowed of the actual factory, so no pictures, but what an unbelievably amazing process building the F-150 is. We got to see almost all aspects from installing side view mirrors, to windshields, to moon roofs, to consoles, to attaching the cab to the bed. We inadvertently spent $25 on milkshakes and donuts. In the museum we made a crazy full circle with almost everything we have been studying and saw on the trip was in this museum, from WWII vehicles, to the chair Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in, to the bus Rosa Parks refused to get up from, and so much more. There was even a Bangor and Aroostook train car and a mint condition antique Coles transportation truck... who knew?
Friday- 11/8- Today we left the US for a few days in an effort to take the most direct route home which happens to be through Canada. They didn’t hassle us too much and I had all of the appropriate permission documentation from Gabe to say that I wasn’t fleeing the country with the kids. We also passed 4,000 miles today! Onto Toronto and the Dr. Seuss exhibit! It definitely wasn’t a day long adventure, but we did enjoy seeing the books of Dr. Seuss come to life. The Lorax, the Grinch, the Sneeches, and the Cat and the Hat. PB&J count- 70
Saturday- 11/9- We had a slower start to the morning knowing it would be a mostly driving day. Today's drive was from Toronto to just west of Montreal. Once we arrived at the hotel we spent the evening swimming and relaxing. Everyone is excited to make the final trip home tomorrow! PB&J count- 75
Sunday- 11/10- Armed with a full Tim Horton's breakfast, we set out for the US. It was a fairly uneventful drive, but made it home safely to Maine mid afternoon after completing 4,687 miles! Final PB&J count- 80
