Tuesday- 11/5- Today we explored the Adler Planetarium and were pleasantly surprised to see how much there was there. There were exhibits about the different space programs and missions, planets, solar system, and the mars rovers. The kids also got to make and experiment with the engineering of paper rockets and then stomp them to flight. Their absolute favorite section though had rocket preparation, mission control, a rocket launch, a place to dock space craft, a robotic arm, a space walk, and driving rovers. PB&J count- 60
Wednesday- 11/6- This morning we stopped to explore Chicago’s museum of Science and Industry on our way out of the city. We have been taking advantage of the reciprocal membership to all of these great museums around the country with our Boston MOS membership, it has totally paid for itself! Why this particular museum and not the field museum you might ask? Well, we can’t shake WWII no matter where we go. This particular museum has the only German U-boat- 505 from WWII in the US. It also has a pretty amazing story of how the US came to get the boat and how it came to rest in Chicago. Anyhow, that was our morning and we spent the rest of our time exploring the other amazing exhibits. I did fail to remember about going back to eastern time and losing an hour in our drive to Detroit so we didn’t have quite as much time at the museum as I thought, but we enjoyed it regardless and made it safely to Dearborn, MI (our 20th and final state of the trip BTW) by bedtime.
